bahahahahhhaaa!!!!

a story about lyn and nash...
i've never told any one this story, because it would reveal how weird nash and i really are; but, nash wants me to tell you all the tale of the naranian outpost on hwy 64/67.

one night near the beginning of this past spring semester, nash and i were enjoying our usual evening out: sonic run for a slushi for me & a route 44 unsweet-peach-tea, with easy ice and 6 sweet-n-low for nasher... then we drive around talking, listening to music, goofing off, etc., until i fell asleep for nash ran out of gas... a typical evening for us.
nash was just about to take me back to my house when this conversation started as we drove back into town:
nash: "lyn, where is the nearest narnian outpost?"
me: "13.1 miles down 64/67, take the exit, and it's there on the left."
nash: "toward bald knob?"
me: "yes"
nash: "but do they have a catamaran?"
me: "i assure you they have a boat."
(at this point we are passing wal-mart, which is directly across from the on ramp to 64/67
nash: "well, missy... let's just see if you know what you're talking about..."
me: "WHAT? i want to go home... i'm tired! besides, i've never been past the bald knob exit!"
nash: "and we're gonna start the trip odometer just to make sure we go 13.1 miles!"
me: "ok... fine."
**this is the part where we're going down the road listening to some disney song, singing at the top of our lungs**
---mile number 12---
nash: "well... one more mile left... and there's not much of..."
me: "LOOK!!! ahahahahah!!!! next exit 1 mile!!!! hahahahahhaah!!!!"
nash: " yes, but is there a narnian outpost...?"
me: "oh, yes... it will be there!"
---mile 12.5---
me: "THERE IT IS!!!"
nash: "where?"
me: "you see that light? that building directly under it- that's it!"
nash: "we'll go see..."

SO... we take the exit, and turns out, there is a house... with a boat... i had NO CLUE that there was even going to be an exit in 13 miles... i really didn't think there would be a house with a boat there... BUT it was funny.... probably only funny to us... but i told you... this would tell you how weird we really are.

soil #13... jared watson.. miss him. love him.

the julia dress...
made of nothing but newspaper, thread, a zipper and some of my blood, sweat, and tears...

the evann dress...
held together only by the gold ribbons

the green dress (left) and the lauren dress ["the paper wedding dress" (right)]
the green dress: i only cut the fabric one time, to make the belt. it's held together by a knot. and the lauren dress, is made of paper, both handmade and purchased... it's five tiers of paper, held together with a snap... and the top is handmade paper, held  together and onto lauren by a piece of ribbon... yea. the thing on top is the veil... although you can barely see the netting in front in this picture, it's there.
so- that's what i've been doing this semester in sculpture...

the clambake is tomorrow, and i couldn't be more excited about it and camping after. tomorrow is the last day of classes, which also brightens my day. hope you're well.

i love ted wheetley. he's my boo. he makes me laugh. makes me think. makes me tell him when life isn't  ok. he listens. he talks. he's wonderful. and i love him.

also...
i wish sometimes i could change things. make them the way they used to be.
i would make this longer, but then i think i'd wish i hadn't.

SOIL # 3 & 4

i was out of town on a choir trip to harrison, arkansas yesterday so i was unable to post- the concert went well, the bus ride was horrible. there is NO interstate between harrison and searcy. NONE. it was curvy back roads the WHOLE 2.5 hours... carsick. the whole way. on a loud bus.

anyway, yesterday's (#3) some one i love (which will now be abbreviated as "soil")

and today's (#4)

and now i have to work on my art history term paper... our "outline" is due tomorrow... and i'm not even sure where to begin. i'm trying to read the material, but trying and accomplishing are 2 very different things. ho-hum.

some one i love # 2 and the rest of the story...

oh my friday....
lyn is to stress as dirt is to earth.
let's just start with first thing in the morning...
woke up an hour late, but still in enough time to make it to my 8am class. got my hair wet, brushed my teeth (but not my hair), put on some mascara (or as i like to call it, mackscare-a), jeans, grey FTL tee, and a knit hat. got to class to discover my professor was late.
went to chapel and unfortunately both people who sit on either side of me were there today, canceling out the option of a nap.
after chapel i went to the student center where i dropped my aluminum water bottle on my flip-flopped toe... not once, not twice, but three times... yes. i'm a klutz.
during my 10am weaving class i ONCE AGAIN ran out of black crochet cotton...(only having used 800 yards so far...) we'll come back to this.
went to the student center to try to chill out for a minute or two before art history and just couldn't get away from one of the most annoying people on the face of the planet...
then came art history... BLAH. got a 64 on the last test i took in there... i currently have a C and i'm VERY ok with that. was reminded in that class that my outline for my term paper is due on monday... i'm going on a choir trip tomorrow. until sunday. will i have time to work on that? negative.
after art history came the highlight of my day- i went to lunch with the boys i usually go to lunch with- john, bobby, and jake... we went to waffle house for our once a month treat to something that isn't the caf or the student center. wonderful lunch.
then i went to work...
and now for the rest of the story...
i had to find more black crotchet cotton to continue my weaving project. a girl i know was going to cabot to go to a different walmart, and called and said they didn't have any. so i called hobby lobby in little rock... they had 3 balls left... so i get in my car and go. on the way there, i spot a michael's and decide to just check and make sure- and praise him... they had it. so long story short... i drove to little rock for a $2.49 ball of string... amazing.
tomorrow i have to get up early... boo.

i've decided that all the posts over the next year are going to contain a "some one i love" segment... this is today's.
